My Top 10 Growth Hacks for Business & Life

When i’m sitting in my office, alone, trying to figure out my next move it can be daunting, often futile. Can you relate? That’s when I go to my go-to growth hacks, and today I’m sharing them with you!

These are my 10 favorite business growth hacks:

1. Reading, like an actual book - this might sound obvious but, when was the last
time you read something for the purpose of learning (that wasn’t simply Googling how long to bake a spaghetti squash in the oven)? Reading a book might feel like a vacation, especially if you’ve been over-doing it on social media lately. I always have about 5 half-read books on my coffee table at any given time. I’m currently reading about memory improvement, perimenopause, anxiety hacks, and of course, witches. What are you reading? Let me know! 📚

2. Learning - taking classes is not only a great way to grow, but a great way to meet new people. Try a class to improve your skills, or take something completely random and fun. Flower arranging anyone? 💐

3. Saying YES to events - speaking of getting out of the house… In-person connections are about 1000x more rewarding and ROI’ing than anything you are doing behind the screen. Check out a book club, a cheese-tasting event, or a super bougie home tour. Bonus points for going to events that feel a little bit out of your league. If you want to level up, find the people who will take you there. 🤝

4. Coffee dates with colleagues. If you’re a solopreneur like me, it’s so important to get the ideas out of your head and bounce them around with others. I promise you’ll have an a-ha! moment. ☕️

5. Quantum Leap Dates. Imagine your best future self, the one who smashed their marketing strategy, got that MBA, published the book, or earned twice as much as
their goal salary for the past 5 years. What are they wearing? Where are they going on vacation? Take that future self to test-drive your dream car,  try on some clothing you can’t (yet) afford with your bestie, have a croissant at a five-star resort… Imagine it’s all accessible, because it is! It’s on it’s way to you, so have fun getting in to the energy and identity of that version of you, now. 🥐

6. Investing in partnerships. I’ve never regretted investing in coaches, therapists, business consultants, expensive haircuts or really talented designers. If you go to Fiverr for your branding, you are going to attract Fiverr-budget clients. Invest in yourself, baby! 🤑

7. Prioritizing your health. For me, staying on a consistent sleep, nutrition and exercise schedule is crucial. I’ll go to the event, but I’m drinking water and getting in bed by 11 so I can be at kickboxing by 8. Otherwise I’ll be cranky, anxious and not fully present with my people. 💪

8. Acting when the muse appears. Allen Ginsberg once said, “When the muse appears, don’t tell her you’ll f*ck her later.” Meaning, when a great idea comes, act on it, otherwise it will quickly pass and be forgotten. As much as I love to create task spreadsheets for myself and my clients, there are some things I can only do (like writing these blogs) when the inspiration comes. Elizabeth Gilbert and Rick Rubin have similarly, perhaps more eloquently, advocated for this idea as well. 💡

9. Social media breaks. Good for your mental health, eyes, posture, marriage, and surprisingly great for engagement. I’ve noticed that after deleting my Instagram app from my phone for a few days, when I come back to the hamster wheel, my engagement skyrockets. She’s thirsty, huh?! 📵

10. Breathwork. I’ve gotten some of my most exciting business ideas during deep breathwork sessions. Breathwork helps me drop into a theta brain-wave state, essentially disabling my inner critic and allowing me to explore new possibilities without judgement. Hypnosis, long walks/bike rides, and forest-bathing have similar effects. 🌬️
