What is Tapping?

Tapping is a powerful stress reduction technique, I like to refer to it as a somatic pep-talk. It evolved in the late 1990s from a technique called Thought Field Therapy. Tapping involves stimulating acupressure points on the body while verbalizing an issue. Tapping on these points has a positive effect on the stress areas of the brain, it also has been proven to lower levels of the stress hormone cortisol.

When we tap while talking through stressful topics, we are able to more quickly resolve issues and move past fear and other unhelpful emotions. Tapping has been proven to help reduce anxiety, PTSD, general trauma, stress, depression, pain, insomnia and other issues.
