First Magazine

I am so grateful to be featured in First For Women magazine this month speaking about how my life has been transformed by practicing EFT Tapping. I saw being interviewed for this magazine as an incredible opportunity to share the power of tapping with a broad audience, possibly many women that I would not have been able to access otherwise.

If you are new to tapping, or have any questions about my story, please visit my tapping page, send me an email, or if you are interested in tapping 1-on-1, schedule a free consultation call with me here. β™₯️

I do need to disclose that some of what was written in the feature was fabricated or exaggerated by the writer

Most of the exaggeration is truly inconsequential, but I would like to clarify a few things, for my own ego, and for the concern of women who might be relating to the article:

- Stress and anxiety were not always/the only reason for my insomnia. I run my own business and that can be very stressful and cause anxiety and insomnia, but I when my symptoms became problematic I was also entering perimenopause. My hormones were in wild fluctuation including my thyroid. Sometimes my night sweats would disrupt my sleep and lack of sleep would cause anxiety and panic (until I learned how to manage anxiety). Mix in a pandemic and you have a wild ride!

- The ‘hotel elevator’ story was fabricated. Creative, though! πŸ˜†

- I never saw a male doctor. The feminist in me needs you to know that I have incredible female-identifying doctors πŸ˜‰

- I never took sleep medication other than the occasional glorious night with Benadryl, my bff.

- I never “had to constantly come up with reasons to reschedule appointments,” I’ve only ever had to reschedule twice due to anxiety (thanks to learning tapping and other modalities!). Although no shame to anyone who has to do this, take care of yourself and, I’m sending you so much love. β™₯️

- I never took anti-depressants. I do realize that a lot of doctors prescribe them to menopausal women for their symptoms, this can be a blessing or it can be problematic. I’m not judging anyone for taking them, but I personally wouldn’t choose it over HRT or before trying HRT if your symptoms are due to perimenopause.

- Hormone replacement therapy radically improved my sleep and eliminated my night sweats almost immediately. I’m incredibly grateful for it and credit it as one of the things that improved my sleep the most.

- I also have experienced benefits from increasing my magnesium intake, and continue to supplement it along with other vitamins. Supplements should  always be discussed with your doctor, there is a lot of misinformation out there about them and it’s a very predatory industry.

- Coaching, hypnosis, breath work, acupuncture, and tapping have all helped me at times. They might not work for everyone nor all of the time, and they are not a panacea.

- “Within a few days of tapping, I started sleeping better.” I did not say this specifically, but do stand by tapping as something that can immediately reduce stress, and with practice and guidance can be used to improve sleep disruptions in some people, including some of my clients.

- “Thrilled to clean out my medicine cabinet and concealer I used to hide dark circles under my eyes.” LOL, no. I’m still taking my hormones, never really experienced dark circles under my eyes, but I do love my concealer.

πŸ‘ What was written that is absolutely true: “It (tapping) worked so well for me that I became certified as a tapping practitioner so that I can help others suffering from insomnia, panic and anxiety… I feel so much better now, in control of my life, and capable of tackling anything that comes my way because I know I am in control.”

It is my purpose and mission to share tapping and other coaching modalities to serve others so that they too can feel calm, relief and in control of their lives. I am so passionate about this, and grateful to make a living doing so.

Another huge part of my mission is to help womxn reframe or detach from systems that oppress and confuse them (us): most significantly, cultural and religious systems, patriarchy, and capitalism. And I would be remiss if I did not, while still in gratitude, hold this magazine accountable for it’s predatory and dangerous headlines. Almost every issue has multiple unrealistic or unhealthy headlines about weight loss (and then pages full of unhealthy dessert recipes πŸ™ƒ.) And as I now have experienced it first hand, know that most of their articles are likely exaggerated and limited in truth.

My message to womxn: You are worthy and valuable regardless of your shape, age, weight or where you are in your hormone journey.

Please reach out if you need support.
