My first celebrity photo shoot was of Alice Cooper (no relation) in 1999 at MTV. I was terrified. While I ended up ruining all of my film, he was one of the nicest musicians I have ever met. Thankfully, the Creative Director gave me a second chance. I shot studio portraits and live shows for MTV and VH1 until 2008. Later I shot publicity photos and album covers for a handful of record labels and musicians.

This portfolio is a selection of live music images that I shot on film, mostly from 2001-2003. The first concert I photographed in New York was Deftones (my favorite band) at Jones Beach in Wantagh. The weather was perfect and a light breeze was blowing into the amphitheater from the bay the whole evening. I brought an assistant with me to help load and rewind my film. It is still one of my favorite music/photography memories.
